Superb breakfast buffet!

The stay was a short getaway, and I was impressed by how conveniently located it was, making it easy to explore nearby attractions like Hyde Park Corner and the Sandton Convention Center. The superior room I had offered stunning views of the city at night, which was a highlight of my stay. I also enjoyed the breakfast selection, especially the pancake machine! the key cards were a bit troublesome, often requiring multiple swipes to work, which was frustrating.

Friendly staff, convenient location, and a well-maintained outdoor swimming pool made my stay enjoyable, with close access to a shopping mall that was a great bonus for quick shopping trips.

Had an awesome time with friends! The rooftop bar had a great whisky selection and the food was top-notch. We loved exploring the nearby Hyde Park Shopping Centre and enjoyed some fun at the pool area. Service was friendly and they made breakfast to order, which was a cool bonus.

One downside was that the hotel felt a bit dated, which was noticeable in the room amenities. It wasn't a deal-breaker, but worth mentioning.

Despite the good dining experiences, the firm beds caused me some serious lower back pain, which was tough to shake off. The breakfast choices were repetitive over my four-day stay. seeing the same sausages and beans every morning got old fast. the bar's smoky atmosphere drifted into other areas, impacting the overall freshness of the space, and I found it difficult to enjoy the pool area given the number of outside visitors occupying the sunbeds and the presence of cigar smoke around the children.

Unfortunately, the room I was assigned overlooked the pool area where loud music from the bar disrupted the peace. The amenities were a bit worn, with non-functioning elements like the TV and phone, which detracted from the luxury experience I expected. The breakfast buffet was merely adequate, with no standout dishes compared to past visits, and the overall feel of the hotel seemed to be aging slightly.

the southern sun is conveniently located close to the mall, just an elevator ride away. The restaurant staff were exceptional. they actually baked egg-free scones for my dietary needs! another bonus was easy access to the hyde park shopping center, which is perfect for shopping and dining.

the rooms could use a bit of modernization.

This hotel suits me perfectly with its wi-fi, 24-hour reception, and outdoor swimming pool. The staff kindly helped with my elderly parents during my first stay. Highly recommend requesting a room facing the street for a quieter experience. I’m coming back for a trip.

I stayed for 2 nights in a Superior Room 1 King Non Smoking, and it felt pretty spacious with a large bathroom. The views of the city from the room were great. the room was kind of dated, the carpet looked old and the USB ports didn't work. The air conditioning took ages to cool it down, and at times it was just too loud.

The rooftop bar had stunning views, truly breathtaking. We got there early and secured a table which was a huge win, as it filled up quickly, but the atmosphere was electric and set the stage for a great night.

I had a wonderful time during my stay, especially enjoying the phenomenal food, particularly the breakfast which had a fantastic variety of options including fresh fruits and flavorful dishes. The connection to the shopping mall was a big plus for me, making it easy to grab a few things. I did notice that the rooms could use some modernization.
